Hired someone smarter than me today. That is what real leadership looks like. And yet, let's pause on the surface-level modesty here. Did I really hire someone smarter? Not exactly. I hired someone with a different kind of intelligence, one that complements my own gap in spreadsheet macro loops. The real win is demonstrating to my network that I am self-aware enough to curate talent. You know the optics. Now I am the strategic visionary and they are the operational muscle. I have delegated the heavy lifting of generating outputs. This frees me to attend more advisory board meetings and speak confidently about scalable ecosystems.
