I keep seeing this hot take circulating, and I want to set the record straight. Generative AI will not take your job. Someone using generative AI will. It is not the technology that is disrupting workflows and teamsāit is the sudden strategic advantage that comes with early adoption and consistent integration.
When I say this in my keynotes, I see the shift in energy in the room. š¼ Some people nod aggressively. Others look defensive, clutching their manual workflows like a lifeline. Which one are you? If you are not actively embedding AI into your daily process, you are already behindāand not by a little. The person generating a first draft in seconds, iterating on strategy in the same breath, is not replacing you. They are outrunning you with intelligence and speed while you champion the status quo.
Stop focusing on job titles being eliminated and start focusing on tasks being reassigned. The currency of the future is throughput, not tenure. And honestly? If you are threatened by a tool that requires your input to function, the theft was always going to be inevitableānot because of AI, but because you clung to the old lens without updating the camera.

The meeting I cancelled last Friday changed my life.
I sat in my car, latte lingering in the cupholder, vendor invoices pulsing on my phone, the serendipity of a schedule opening.
The silence was louder than any agendaāit was data.
I realized that every held meeting is a tax on my mental scarcity, a currency we trade for the illusion of progress.
That cancel was a strategic carve eventāa boundary cascade.
I reclaimed ninety minutes, invested them into reflecting on my calendar backlog, and executed on nothing of external value.
The lesson: The most valuable time is the hour you steal from your own over-entitlement.
