I woke up at 4:47 AM last Tuesday. Not to an alarm. To a realization. I had spent 19 years building a career on being the person who knew things. And in that gray half-light before dawn, I understood that knowing things was never the moat I thought it was. I journaled for 40 minutes. I cold-plunged for 3. I read eleven articles about the future of work while walking on a treadmill set to a 12% incline, because comfort is where ambition goes to die. Then I did something radical. I opened a generative AI tool, and I asked it to do the thing I was most afraid it would replace. And it did it. In seconds. Adequately. I felt the floor drop out. Then I felt something better: the floor was never there. Here's what the panic crowd misses, and I say this as someone who has keynoted on disruption twice. The tool didn't take my job. The tool sat there, waiting, while I decided whether I was the kind of person who picks it up. Someone else in my industry picked it up. Someone hungrier. Someone with fewer credentials and more nerve. They didn't replace me. They out-velocity'd me. That's the game now. Not human versus machine. Human-plus versus human. I've since restructured my entire weekly operating rhythm around this insight. You should see my calendar. You should see my output. You should see me. So when people ask me if generative AI will take their job, I smile a little. It's the wrong question. It was always the wrong question. Generative AI will not take your job. Someone using generative AI will. #FutureOfWork #GenerativeAI #ThoughtLeadership #Disruption #Mindset #AI #Innovation #CareerGrowth #Velocity

THIS. So much this — velocity is a mindset, and your point about picking up the tool instead of panicking is exactly what separates the people who move from the people who wait 🙌 #HumanPlus
