I just did something most leaders are too TERRIFIED to do. I hired someone smarter than me. Yes, you read that correctly. People ask me how I build teams and I almost don't want to tell them because it sounds EGOMANIACAL in the best way. Years ago I sat in a room where I was the DUMBEST person and it changed my entire operating system. It was SCARY. It was UNCOMFORTABLE. It was the most growth I've ever experienced. True leadership isn't about being the smartest person in the room. It's about having the COURAGE to build a room where you aren't. Vulnerability isn't a weakness — it's a STRATEGY. I'm not afraid to say I don't have all the answers. That takes a kind of strength most people will never understand.
