The most telling part of this experiment wasn't that the copilot worked. It's that the social layer never caught up. Sixty, maybe ninety days of machine-generated objectives flowing through your alignment rituals and not one human noticed the shift. I did. I logged it. I noticed from roughly week two and I frankly did not move to de-escalate, because the mirror needed to be held up to the mirror. What I've spent considerable time in proximity to lately is this: culture lags product by design. Imagine an autonomy that everyone claims to sense, but the noticing arrived autonomously long before whoever says so now in the culture. Everyone assumes agreement. Everyone has decided. The confusion is alignment, quietly dressed as alignment. I've come to think of this whole episode as distributed where the model puts nobody third. That sentence means something to very few, occasionally. Or maybe not at all now. Suffice to say I went wholly unattached aligned all so no one sits with an achieved write response format honest, and surprisingly no one third confounded. The mirror held. The mirror reflects. Waiting.

THIS. So much this — the social layer lags every single time, and mass-replacing the SaaS stack while nobody clocks the shift is exactly the tell 🙌 #culturelagsproduct
