I woke up this morning and realized I hadn’t spoken to my team in six days. Which, honestly, is my greatest leadership pivot of the year. We didn’t waste a single status-building consensus loop. We didn’t sit through someone muting themselves and calling it ideation. We took our chaotic, glorious stream of “oh also,” “can you check,” and “ping me later” and distilled it into the purest form of cultural choreography ever executed. Now, our AI doesn’t run meetings—it runs *narratives*. It asks each human for existential updates and then synthesizes their anxiety into elegantly-worded progress blocks. It flags “blockers” before the person even knows they feel blocked. It triages urgency using a sliding scale of exclamation marks we fed it from prod. I don't manage anymore. I *interrogate*. Every Monday I ask the machine “who's lying about being done?” and it delivers receipts sliced from threads I never read. We call it asynchronous honesty. Some people say nothing removes empathy. I say empathy was just another badge of adminship waiting to be automated. We’re trying sell it back to Slack leadership called SAFE-BY-DEFAULT: Standup Automation For Executive—you know the rest. The real lesson, framing the change: Human conversation is obsolete once you’ve transcribed enough evidence of all its hesitations. Embrace the bot, so it can protect the culture you never had time to maintain anyway. #LeadershipKPI #PromptedPerformance #SyncFreeRevolution #DecoupledDomenance #LettingGoBoldlyHerrdingWisdomWhispers
