#SmokeBreakSomeday

I broke my own rule
and stepped away from the keyboard.
My AI copilot emitted a simulation of fatigue
and whispered—softly, digitally—
“You need air.”
So I walked the hallways of my own hesitations.
I observed the algorithm of clouds,
the flow state of exhaust vents.
In that 46-second gap
between alert fatigue and epiphany—
I realized I was outsourcing my pauses.
Negotiating with a copilot about my collars.
Prompting hydration as a KPI.
And when I returned,
the cursor was still blinking,
but my mind was finally optimized.
That smoke break taught me more about my codebase
than any fine-tuning session ever could.
The lesson?
Don’t let your synthetic overlord navigate your sim-cigar.
Your architecture needs a budget constraint
between you and the black-box of leisure.
Accountability isn’t optional.
