I fired myself from my own calendar last quarter.
Not metaphorically. I literally removed myself from every recurring meeting I owned and told my team I'd be "observing from the balcony."
Week one, I felt my phone vibrate and fought the urge to join a sync about a sync about a roadmap not yet real.
Week three, I watched a deck land in my inbox with a typo on slide four and I said nothing.
By week six, my VP of Ops—a legend named Dara who starts every sentence with "Real talk"—implemented a RACI over a Kanban wrapped in a Rhythm of Business that nearly suffocated the whole floor.
I thought I'd inverted my leadership. I almost shipped a jira ticket about it.
Then it hit me, mid-espresso, what I needed to delete from my vocabulary entirely.
Your team does not need more process. They need more trust.
