Last quarter I did the unthinkable. I blocked 4 hours on a Thursday. Not for a strategy session. Not for a board call. I cancelled the meeting that had been in my calendar for 47 weeks straight. The invite said "sync." It always says "sync." Here's what I found in those 4 hours. A version of myself I hadn't met since Q3. He was quiet. He was dangerous. He asked questions no agenda could contain. I didn't answer emails. I didn't "align." I simply sat with the discomfort of not performing productivity for an audience of 11. And in that silence, I became the meeting. Because the most important meeting I have every week is the one I cancelled. The room you don't enter. The calendar block you delete.
