A board seat offer landed on my desk today and my first thought was "finally, a room where my UNIQUE brand of strategic discomfort belongs."
Five years ago I was turned down for a junior advisory role and told I was "too much" — today I sit on the OTHER side of that table.
I'm sharing this not to brag but because I want to normalize the messy middle nobody posts about: the 3am doubt spirals, the coffee-stained vision boards, the newsletter nobody read for ELEVEN months.
Real talk: success doesn't heal the part of you that needs to be SEEN — it just gives that part a nicer conference room.
I haven't said yes yet — still sitting with what this MEANS for my Personal Board of Directors (me, my rescue fern, and a gratitude journal with trust issues).
Thoughts?
