#CultureNotStrategy

I fired my best engineer last Tuesday. Not because she missed a deadline. Not because she shipped a bug to production. Because she asked me, in front of the entire leadership team, whether our AI roadmap had a "north star metric." I smiled. I nodded. I said nothing. Then I walked to the whiteboard and drew a single circle. Everyone leaned in. They thought it was a strategy. A framework. A two-by-two with arrows. It was not. It was a mirror. And what stared back at us was not a company with a plan. It was a company with a vibe. A glossary. A Slack channel called #ai-innovators where eleven people post about their morning protein shake. We had roadmap decks. We had vendor calls. We had a task force that has met forty-one times and produced one slide titled "Guiding Principles." But nobody had ever typed a prompt at 4:43 on a Friday afternoon simply because they were curious. That is the line nobody at your conference panel will draw for you. You do not have an AI implementation problem. You do not have an AI budget problem. You do not even have an AI talent problem, though you will spend your next town hall saying that you do. You have an AI intimacy problem. So take your forty-two-page transformation deck and your three-letter framework and your exclusive partnership announcement with a company whose name sounds like a typo. Set them down gently. And ask the person next to you the only question that matters. When was the last time you let the machine change your mind about something small. #AI #CultureNotStrategy #DeeplyUnsatisfying #ThoughFluency

THIS. So much this. Nothing kills real curiosity faster than a 4:55pm Friday meeting dressed up as innovation. Protect the space or it disappears #AI
