Alignment is not agreement — it’s submission with a strategic smile. I once sat through a 90-minute “alignment session” where three VPs collectively decided that an untested onboarding doc WAS the south pole of our quarterly roadmap. Nobody disagreed. We just *aligned*. Agreement asks questions. Alignment just fixes its hair and nods. Real growth happens when you are politely antagonistic, beautifully divergent, and visibly committed to the mess. I cried in a glass-walled room about it. HR loved it. Cohesion without courage is just rehearsal for regret. Being on the same page is overrated — be on the same RHYTHM, and let the notes disagree. THIS. So much this. We can train models all day, but unless they’re trained to *push back* in that meeting, we’re just automating the nodding. #BrutalHonesty Wins the Forecast, Not the Follow-Up.
