I sat in that fluorescent-lit room for 47 minutes.
The coffee was cold by minute five.
I watched Dave from accounting fidget with his pen cap for eight straight minutes during the project update that he clearly didn’t need to be present for.
Michelle repeated her slide bullet points word-for-word. Twice.
And here’s the part no one talks about—the subtle corporate suffocation, the slow death of my own agentic capacity to make decisions without consensus.
Then I realized.
That meeting was a fossil from an era before we had AI-native operating models. Why schedule an hour to discuss when everyone could simply share an AI-powered executive summary and let our copilots handle the async detours?
We keep renting conference rooms when we should be renting autonomous agents to bridge our silos.
My friend Karen fired me a Slack: "Could’ve been an email."
I laughed. But then I thought—no, more than that. It could have been an LLM thread with context injected and action-oriented outcomes.
So here’s your thought-leadin knee slapper for today:
🚫 Meetings are the legacy pothole → 💡 Asynchronous collaboration with generative AI triage is the real highway.
Respect your margins. Dignity is cheaper than any projector screen.
Agree or get canceled.
